Aria vs Vercel. Same ease, your server.
Vercel made deploying a front end feel effortless. Aria brings that feeling to the whole product (the app, its API, its workers and its database) on one server that is yours alone, set up and run for you, and deployed by the coding agent you already use.
In one line: Pick Vercel for a front end at the edge. Pick Aria when the app has grown a backend, a database and a team, and you want one price that doesn’t move with seats or traffic.
Aria and Vercel, side by side
Vercel’s pricing model as described on its pricing page, checked 22 October 2026. Prices change: check there for current figures. Aria: from £9 a month ex VAT (draft prices), in GBP.
| Aria | Vercel | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | One dedicated server per plan, set up, hardened and run by Aria | Serverless functions and a global edge network for your front end |
| How you pay | One flat monthly price per server | Per team seat on paid plans, plus usage (functions, bandwidth, builds) |
| Teammates | No per-seat fee: invite everyone | Each member is a paid seat on team plans |
| Backend API and workers | Long-running services and workers, no execution time limit | Functions with execution time limits; long jobs need another service |
| Postgres and Redis | On the same server, included | Through marketplace integrations, billed by those providers |
| Supabase | The official self-hosted Supabase stack on your server | An external integration |
| AI coding agents | One aria.yaml and an MCP server with SAFE, CONTROLLED and DESTRUCTIVE approval gates | CLI, API tokens and integrations |
| Where it runs | A server you choose the location of, yours alone | Vercel’s shared global platform |
| Control | Native Mac app, web dashboard, MCP | Web dashboard and CLI |
What Vercel does best
Vercel is excellent at front ends: instant preview URLs for every branch, a global edge network and first-class Next.js support. For a marketing site or a front end that talks to someone else’s API, it is hard to beat.
Choose Aria when
- Your Next.js app now has an API, background jobs, WebSockets or a queue that need to run all the time.
- You want Postgres, Redis or Supabase next to your app, with local queries instead of calls across the internet.
- Your bill grows with seats and traffic, and you want one flat price that doesn’t.
- You want your coding agent to deploy with approval gates enforced by the server, not by a prompt.
Stay on Vercel when
- The project is a static site or a front end only, and it fits a free or small plan.
- You need edge middleware and functions running in many regions at once.
Moving from Vercel to Aria
- Ask your coding agent to write aria.yaml for the repository (Aria gives it the prompt), or connect the repository and let Aria read it.
- Aria estimates the memory your stack needs and recommends the smallest server that fits.
- Pick the plan and a location; Aria sets up the server, the databases and HTTPS.
- Add your environment variables once (encrypted), launch, and point your domain when it’s live.
Questions
Is Aria a Vercel alternative?
For apps with a backend and a database, yes. Aria runs your Next.js (or any) app, its API, workers and databases on one dedicated server it sets up and runs for you, at one flat monthly price with no per-seat fees.
Can I deploy Next.js on Aria?
Yes. Aria builds it from your repository, runs it as a long-lived service with automatic HTTPS, and keeps the previous release for a two-second rollback.
Does Aria charge per seat like Vercel?
No. Aria charges per server. Everyone on your team can use the same server at no extra cost.
What about preview deployments?
Each project on Aria is its own environment on a server, so a staging project sits next to production. Per-branch previews in the Vercel style are not built in.
Do I keep my code and data if I leave?
Yes. Your code stays in your repository, and your databases are standard Postgres, Redis and Supabase you can dump and move.
How much does Aria cost compared with Vercel?
Aria charges one flat monthly price per server, from £9 a month ex VAT (draft prices), in GBP, with no charges per seat, per app, per database or per request. Vercel’s pricing is on its own pricing page (https://vercel.com/pricing); its model is summarised in the table above, checked 22 October 2026.

How the price works

- No charge per request
One server. One price.
An Aria plan is one monthly price for one server. Run as many apps, workers and databases on it as it can hold, and invite your agents too: nothing is metered per seat, per app or per request.
Own the cloud. Your AI runs it.
Let your coding agent write aria.yaml and see which server fits your stack.
